What time will it unlock?
Rockstar has announced the date, not an hour. The PlayStation Store listings show one: the US store releases at 05:00 UTC on November 19, which is 12:00 AM Eastern (9:00 PM Pacific on November 18), and the UK store at 12:00 AM UK time. That points to a midnight unlock in each region rather than one worldwide moment. The Xbox store shows the date only.
Our countdown runs to midnight on November 19 in your own time zone. If the US store uses Eastern time for the whole country, players further west can start earlier, at 9 PM Pacific on November 18. Check your store listing in launch week.
How to be ready on launch day
- Pre-order the digital edition on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store before November 12, 2026, so the download can start as soon as pre-load opens.
- Free up space early. The size is not known yet, and clearing space takes less time than a large download on launch night.
- Check your console has auto-download turned on, or start the download yourself from your game library on November 12, 2026.
Be careful with file size claims
Any GTA 6 size you see now is an estimate. The store listings will show the real number once pre-load opens, and we will add it here with the date we checked it.
